Organized: February 22, 1992

Website: http://uaplu.webs.com/

UAP has a membership of more than 24,000 architects in 116 chapters, 110 based in the Philippines and 6 based in the cities of Hongkong, Calgary,Ontario & British Columbia in Canada ; San Francisco and Los Angeles in the United States.

During the early months of 1992, there was a Regional Consultation Meeting of the UAP help in La Union with UAP-Baguio, Dagupan-Pangasinan and Ilocos Chapters as hosts. It was at that time when the UAP National Officers led by then National President Jimmy Marquez and the Area-A1 District Director Mike Caluza of Baguio Chapter encouraged La Union Architects to form a new chapter. The UAP-La Union Chapter was formed on February 22, 1992 and was chartered as the first new chapter formed during the office term of Arch. Jimmy Marquez. The Charter Induction was held at the Acapulco Resort Hotel in Canaoay, San Fernando, La Union.

Among the Charters Officers were: Jojo Miranda (President); Alan Chan (VP-Operations); Danny Estigoy (VP-P & D); Bobby Baradi (Secretary); Ike Sanglay (Treasurer); the late Donny Calderon (Director) and Eli Ruiz (Director).

Barely six months after chartering, the chapter was fortunate enough to host the 1st UAP-MIDTERM NATIONAL CONFERENCE (now known as the NATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR ARCHITECTS) on October 9, 10, and 11, 1992 held at Villa Estrella, Cabaña Beach Resort Hotel, Central Bank and DECS Pavilion. This hosting perhaps was the best accomplishment of a chapter as young as the La Union Chapter. Arch. Miranda later had his second term of office and was succeeded by Arch. Danilo Estigoy in 1994.
