This summer, I will be going on a mission trip with my church to serve in a rural community in the Appalachian Mountains. We will be working with Adventures in Missions (http://www.adventures.org/trips/mission-trips.asp?locID=93&typeid=5&subtypeid=3). We will have the opportunity to participate in service projects, help with VBS, or work with Boys & Girls Clubs.
As I considered whether or not I am ready for such a journey, I remembered the words of Rod's last message: "Do not be afraid, don't let fear cripple you; keep moving forward with the task God has given you to do, don't lose focus; for God is with you; He will give you reprieves; there are people yet to touch" (from Acts 18:9-10). People yet to touch. People in Appalachia.
