Oxgangs / Colinton Mains park has recreationally supported many Oxgangs residents for generations. It has recently been refurbished with great facilities. Through my Dad (Jackie Laird) it has come to our attention that this facility may not stay in the hands of local Boys Clubs and non-local larger clubs are interested in potentially taking over the new facilities and pitches to manage and maintain. I for one feel very strongly that this new facility should stay in the hands of local people and football clubs. Who may not have the resources the larger clubs have. I would like to reiterate that there is nothing agreed at the moment however I feel strongly that the local voice should be heard. If the local consensus is that one of the bigger clubs should run this facility then at least the local voice has been heard and has the chance to put their views across.
