Due to an increase of sales related posts in this group the Main Line Parent team has decided that our no solicitations rule must extend to cover solicitations for non business related sales. For example: homes for sale, used items for sale, yard sales, services, other Facebook Pages or Groups, etc. I know this is a change to what we have allowed in the past. As always you are allowed to comment on a post with relevant information, if someone is looking for a home and yours is a fit, or if someone is in search of an item you can sell to them. And a reminder about our advertising policy: this includes no posts from babysitters/nannies, bloggers or writers sharing their content, direct sales businesses, brick & mortar businesses, local businesses, no fundraisers, no affiliate sales links (including your link to groupon so that others can buy the item and you get yours for free).
Our team needs to make a medical information disclaimer at this point in time. There have been many posts listing symptoms or showing a photo of a bite or rash lately, and each time it happens I get messages from concerned members of the group who are members of the medical community. When you are in need of medical advice you should always call your physician. Asking a group of 5K people to decipher an illness for you when we have one snapshot, a description, and are not acquainted with the child is not appropriate here. I understand the "village mentality" and I love that about this group, the support and advice, but we cannot assume responsibility for anyone's health or your child's health. Feel free to ask for a referral for a doctor, a preferred Emergency Room, best walk in clinic. But please do not poll the group to see what your child may have, let your own doctor provide the help and reassurance you need.
